In short
Theratone has no user accounts, advertising, analytics or tracking. We do not collect personal profiles, upload recordings, or sell data.
Information kept on your device
Your sound settings, MIDI choices and learned MIDI mappings can be stored locally by the app or browser so they are available next time. This information is not sent to Theratone. You can remove it by clearing the site’s storage or uninstalling the app.
Motion, MIDI and audio
Motion sensor readings and MIDI messages are processed on your device to play the instrument. Theratone does not store or upload them during normal standalone use.
Recordings
Recordings are created locally and held temporarily in the app. They are not uploaded to Theratone. A recording leaves the app only when you deliberately use Save or Share and choose a destination. Recordings you save are then controlled by you and the service or location you selected.
Camera
The native app requests camera access only when you choose to scan a Theratone pairing QR code. The QR code is read on the device. Camera images and video are not retained or uploaded.
Optional motion remote
When you choose device pairing, a short pairing code and live motion/play values pass through an encrypted connection so the paired devices can perform together. Audio, recordings, contacts and camera images are not sent. Theratone’s relay has no user database and does not persist the performance messages.
Website hosting
The website and optional pairing relay are hosted by Cloudflare. As with most internet services, the hosting provider may process basic request information such as an IP address for delivery, reliability and security. Theratone does not add analytics or use this information to identify or profile people. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
